CHÂTEAU LE TAP

Produced by Château Le Tap in the heart of the Bergerac Sec AOC, ‘Le Tap’ is an elegant, dry white wine made from grapes that are hand-harvested at night to preserve the fruit’s delicate balance of sweetness and acidity. Awarded ‘Best Wine in Box’ in 2020, this cuvée features fragrant blossoms and honeyed nuances, with ripe stone fruit aromas, culminating in a fresh and citrusy fruit finish.

The AOC Bergerac sec is an underrated appellation known for its dry white wines produced in the northeast and south of Bergerac, covering 13,000 hectares and nearly 93 communes. This terroir, with its consistent sunlight, unique humidity, and varied soils, is ideal for white wines. The primary grape varieties are Sémillon, Sauvignon, and Muscadelle, with occasional additions of Ondenc, Chenin, and Ugni Blanc (up to 25%). These young wines are aromatic, fresh, and offer a pleasing length on the palate.

In the heart of Périgord Pourpre, Château Le Tap produces exquisite red, white and sweet wines. The property, built on white stone, earned the nickname “Tas de Pierre” in Napoleonic registries, later shortened to “Le Tap.”

Mireille and Olivier Roches have been practicing organic farming since 2007. Coming from a family of winegrowers, they ensure their terroir’s delicate balance is respected. To develop this dry Bergerac, they used an ancestral method, hand-harvesting the grapes at night.
